Italo-Albanese Eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi
The Eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi / Hora e Arbëreshëvet (Italian: Eparchia di Piana degli Albanesi; Albanian: Eparhia e Horës së Arbëreshëvet), in Sicily, has been an eparchy in 1937, and has 15 parishes,〔(Chronology of Catholic Dioceses: The Italo-Albanian Catholic Church )〕 being subject to the Italo-Albanian Byzantine Church.
==History==
On February 6, 1784, was created the first bishop of the Byzantine-Orthodox Rite for the Albanians of Sicily. The first bishop was Giorgio Stassi, Titular Bishop of Lampsacus. Before the Albanians faithful and their Orthodox priests they had no right and were at risk in assimilation in the Roman rite. On October 26, 1937, the Eparchy of Piana dei Greci was promoted from the Ordinariate of Silicia and erected from territory from Metropolitan Archdiocese of Palermo and Metropolitan Archdiocese of Monreale. On October 25, 1941, Eparchy (Diocese) of Piana dei Greci was renamed as Eparchy of Piana degli Abanesi / Hora e Arbëreshëvet.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.gcatholic.org/dioceses/diocese/pian0.htm )〕
